I have been teaching in a variety of settings for the past 30 years. I began my professional life as a youth worker before going onto university, and after that I have worked in residential centres with disaffected young people in North Wales, set up and taught on alternative educational programmes for permanently excluded year 11 students in Plymouth. Between 2002 and 2010 I worked as a manager and tutor with Cornwall Adult Education Service delivering courses for 16Plus
Student centred and led in my approach to teaching so that the experience is led by the student s interests and aspirations, and the learning journey is owned and invested in by the student.
