I am a young and enthusiastic piano and music theory teacher who has enjoyed music for almost 25 years. In 2006 I graduated from the University of Durham with a BA Hons in Music and then went on to do an internship at the Royal College of Music, London. I believe that everyone has the ability to embark upon an exciting and inspiring musical journey that can change and inform our perception of the world we live in.
As a piano teacher, I believe in a broad approach to the appreciation and understanding of music, facilitated through the training of a range of faculties- technical skills at the keyboard, aural and listening skills, and theory and the appreciation of music. I also strongly encourage and will help to facilitate learner pianists to have as many musical experiences with other musicians as possible, since this encourages the development of skills which are often absent from the life of a solo pianist, not to mention being lots of fun.
