I am a qualified Mathematics teacher who has experience of teaching at all levels from KS3 to A-levels, including children with SEN. I find the time spent in a 1-2-1 situation the most rewarding and beneficial to the child. I am fluent in both English and Welsh, and normally teach through the medium of Welsh.
The child should lead the tutoring in my opinion. The tutor s role is one of support, explaining work that the child finds difficult and teaching other methods to complement those taught at the child s school.
