I graduated from the University of Wales in 1968 with a Joint Honours Degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics, then qualified with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at the University of Exeter Department of Education. I spent thirty years teaching, including five years at Kenton College Nairobi, Kenya and ten years at the Preparatory School for Haileybury and Imperial Service College. I have also taught Maths to Advanced Level at an International School in the U.A.E. before recently taking early retirement on health grounds. It still gives me great satisfaction to pass on the understanding and enjoyment of Maths to pupils who are keen to learn, and some of my private pupils have recently been rewarded with highly commendable results.
