I elicit understanding from a pupil and draw the very best from the individual through humour, patience, and understanding; I ask the student questions thereby creating space for learning, give time to learn once the space is established, ask the student to explain how he/she arrived at an answer so that he/she subconsciously evaluates his/her thought process and conclusion, and test his/her understanding by providing alternative viewpoints to his/her decision that cause the student to re-evaluate his/her assessments.
